    Infoletter No. 6

Racing driver heart – what more can one wish for ?

An awesome racing track (Spa is just fantastic),

awesome weather (incredible but true – there was not one cloud in the sky),

an awesome starting field (4x GT 40, 3x Porsche RSR, Bizzarrini, De Tomaso Pantera,

Escort BDA, Plymouth Cuda, MGB GT, Alfa GTA, Caterham, Lotus Seven, Chevrolet Corvette, Lotus Elan....),

an awesome race (60 minutes of thrills with pit stops and change of drivers),

an awesome prize-giving ceremony (with trophies, flowers, champagne for the first 3 in the four leagues),

satisfied faces everywhere (and the general statement “we are looking forward to next year with great pleasure”),

as well as a happy C-R-L organiser, who at this point, would like to thank for the good cooperation within the teams, our technical scrutineer Karl-Heinz Loibl, the coordinator of the Trophee Lotus Jean Paul Couilliot, the organising team of the RMU Classic under the special management of Jacques Bruyns and especially the good-natured “weather god”.

For all those who could not participate in our first race event of the 2010 season, there is the possibility to have a look at the results, some photos as well as a thrilling video taken in the cockpit of our participant, Jan van Elderen on our new website under „News” - have fun !

Attention: The new  C-R-L website is still under construction and is therefore not quite perfect as yet but useable – hopefully !.

At this point, our thanks to our “old” webmaster Alex Jaus from the m-zentrale in Stuttgart. Due to the lack of any sponsers, the C-R-L website must now be “self-made” by my son, Marc.

You will receive the infoletter in regards to our next racing event, the City Grand Prix in Aarhus, Denmark which will take place on 26. – 27. June 2010 by the end of this week.

    With sporting regards

    Infoletter No. 5

Dear friends of the CLASSIC-RACING-LEAGUE C-R-L,

Please find enclosed the latest timetable for the RMU Classic in Spa-Francorchamps, 22. - 24. May 2010. Please take note, that in 2010, it is only a 2-day event for the participants of the CLASSIC-RACING-LEAGUE. This means that whoever does not wish to participate in the Free Practice (special payment to the Event-Organiser) on Friday morning, can arrive in Spa on early Saturday morning. Anyway, our Technical Scrutineer, Mr Karl-Heinz Loibl will only be present at the Drivers' Paddock on Saturday morning from 10.00 hours onwards in order to hold the technical scrutineering for the C-R-L competitors.

Those of you who have entered for the event in Spa till now (late entries are always welcome), will receive another second email with all the necessary documents for the RMU Classic from me.

    With sporting regards

    Infoletter No. 4

Dear friends of the CLASSIC-RACING-LEAGUE C-R-L,

Due to the numerous questions in regards to the classification system of the C-R-L, the tyres and the technical scrutineering, I am sending you this clarification.

The 4 Leagues have nothing to do with time classes and cubic capacity classes. After the qualifying, the starting field (result list) will be divided by 4 and then we will have 4 equally fast Leagues with the same amount of participants in each League (i.e. League A - the fastest group of the starting field, League B - the second-fastest group of the starting field, League C - the third-fastest group 10 best and League D the fourth-fastest group, etc). Hereby year of construction or respectively the cubic capacity class does not matter anymore.

The race will then be held as usual according to the results of the qualifying. After the race, the positions secured within the leagues will be classified i.e. trophies will be awarded for the first positions, for the second positions and third positions in the 4 leagues. Points for the Championship will only be awarded in such a way.

For example a nearly serial-production Ford Mustang will be "fighting" against a fast Triumph in the same league or a really fast Lotus Elan against a Porsche RSR. Therefore each participant will "find" his rival - it all depends on how fast he drives. You can of course also change your car in each C-R-L race event . The leagues will be newly defined for each race event - the results of the qualifying divided by 4 - no matter how many and what kind of participants are at the Start !!

The type of tyres are up to you. We will only check the safety during the technical scrutineering. These must always be in accordance to all points of the Appendix K or respectively Appendix J - depending on the car's year of construction.

For this matter, please also read the key facts or the regulations on our C-R-L website. If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to give me call.

    With sporting regards

    Infoletter No. 3

Dear friends of the CLASSIC-RACING-LEAGUE C-R-L,

The countdown has begun for our first event, the RMU Classic wiil be held in Spa-Francorchamps from 21. - 23.05.2010 (only another 6 weeks). You will find the provisional timetable in the attachment - please note, that it is a Saturday / Sunday event for the C-R-L. The race in Spa will have a duration of 60 minutes. Attention: the noise is limited to not more than 118 dBA.

All participants for this event will receive further information such as Paddockplan, Drivers Briefing schedules, Tickets, Parking, etc directly from me in the near future. The closing date for entries for Spa is 1. May 2010. After this date, entries will only be accepted in exceptional cases since we will be starting together with a Dutch and French race series once again - more cars, more fun !!

I take the opportunity to bring your notice to a small regulation amendment: The minimum stopping time for the mandatory pit stop is from now only 30 seconds (instead of 60 seconds) or the driver runs around his race car one time or that the team will have a driver change. Tests have shown that better equal opportunities can prevail.

Moreover I wish to announce a new event in the C-R-L race calender - the CLASSIC-RACING-LEAGUE will start on 04. - 05. September 2010 at the Goodyear Race Weekend in Colmar Berg, Luxembourg (see attachment Key Facts). "Old" GTM or GTC-TC drivers will most probably remember the nice and friendly ambience as well as the winding race track.

    Infoletter No. 1

Dear friends of the historic motor sports,

As already announced at the beginning of January, you will find attached the key facts of the CLASSIC-RACING-LEAGUE C-R-L (the subsequent race series of the GTC-TC).

The focus of this race series should be first and foremost lots of fun as well as lowbudget motor sports. Therefore please pay special attention to the point "Classification". In the C-R-L, it does not matter, who owns the best, most expensive and fastest car in his category but that each participant finds his "rival" in a "time class" (League) which suits him best. This means for example that a optimally "tuned" Triumph will drive against an "original" Ford Mustang or that a "super" Lotus Elan will drive against a "standard" BMW M1, etc, etc. After the race, all participants will be awarded their points and trophies only according to the positions secured in their "Leagues".

This classification also gives us the possibility to start smoothly together with other historic race series sometimes. In this way, we can make sure that we not only have full and varied starting grids - and more fun for all participants - but that this even helps to make our races fundable.

Even the entry fee could be reduced in comparison to the 2009 season (see Registration and Entry Form). The complete C-R-L Regulation, the C-R-L Registration and the C-R-L Entry Form can already be downloaded from our new website www.c-r-l.de (is still being generated) or you can ask for these documents from me per fax or phone.

Waiting for your hopefully numerous entries as soon as possible,

    With sporting regards
